Akemi is an excellent massage therapist that I would highly recommend. I have been seeing her for two years for sports-related injuries and post-surgical rehab. She is one of the few health practitioners that I trust to aid in my recovery and get me back onto the court. She is confident in her work and able to work sensitively on difficult areas for healing. For example, she recently worked on my minor neck injury for over an hour - entirely on the neck and related muscle groups. By the end I was able to turn my head fully and within a few days was back to playing sport.

I highly encourage anyone wanting to heal or improve their life to come see Akemi and Mac. The combination of her counselling and massage therapy plus some sporadic acupuncture from Mac has been an absolute powerhouse! I didn’t even know was possible until I began seeing Akemi. Akemi has this rare ability to make you feel deeply supported, truly seen, and gently held — like a friend. Her approach to counselling is beautiful, grounding, and so far removed from the cold, clinical settings I’ve tried time and time again. There’s no pressure, no notes (but she remembers, because she actually cares!) The space feels warm, safe with gentle lighting. A truly calming and healing space! The location itself, right in town near the beach, adds to the magic. Sometimes it’s also nice to take the session to nature and the sound and sight of the water, the feel of the sand. It makes it all so much easier to integrate. Each time I visit, I leave feeling more inspired and motivated to improve my life, little by little. Working with Akemi has truly been a gift — and a turning point!
