I found Denise and Pleasant Pilates in May 2025. My hip joints ached, I was overweight. Also I was having a lot of falls, one of which was backwards onto concrete while decorating the stairs for Xmas. This landed me in hospital for 3 days just before Xmas 2024. I thought I’d never see the end of dreaded menopause and its horrible symptoms which had been my everyday experience for about 14 years. I found a great dr (HER medical) who was happy to assist me with weight loss and other health issues. This started a very successful journey towards my recovery. I stopped my personal ‘happy hour’ every night and joined Pilates. Big big step for me. I am not a joiner. I love that Denise’s classes are limited to 4 people. Denise is extremely knowledgeable and has helped me enormously to feel so much more confident and strong. She pushes…. but just the right amount and I see the results even with my aging body. Some muscle and shape happening, yay. I don’t know if it’s coincidence but menopause seems to have finally left the building. No more hot flushes; I’m happier in myself; have lost weight; don’t have aching hip joints anymore and feel strong and confident on my feet. (“ ‘bout damn time!”) 😊 It truly is a case of “if I can do it, anyone can”!
I have only been going for 3 wks but I need this class to regain my flexibility. It is challenging but rewarding. My weight training at the gym to build good muscle and bone strength is not giving me any flexibility which I'm hoping to regain with Diane and Pilates.
