GoogleIf you are looking for a serene, offbeat, peaceful, no-frill location with pure vegetarian (saatvik) food, right besides the river, this is the perfect place. Kusuma (facility manager) as well as rest of the staff are very friendly and genuinely caring. Laundry service is available at a very nominal cost. The rooms, including the bathroom, are maintained very well. Please note there is no AC or lift service. Please don't miss the walk to the river front and spend sometime listening to the relaxing sound of the river and the various birds. If you are lucky, you will run into the smooth coated otter. They have a go shaala inside the facility with almost 10 cows (including gir cows). You will get fresh tea as well as coffee early mornings as well as breakfast, lunch and dinner. We stayed for three days and enjoyed every moment.
I stayed at Yoga Dhaama Retreat for about 24 days while completing my Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training, and I’m leaving this 5-star review mainly because of Kusuma, the property manager. She’s exceptional — warm, intelligent, organized, and truly dedicated. She seemed to effortlessly manage everything from guest care to logistics with genuine kindness and efficiency. If I could give her six stars, I would! The home-cooked vegetarian meals were another highlight — consistently delicious, healthy, and made with love. Fresh milk from the on-site cows was a special treat, and the entire staff was kind and eager to please. The setting is peaceful and authentic — a small farm and cultural center along the beautiful Cauvery River. You’ll wake to peacocks and nature, surrounded by a community doing meaningful cultural and educational work. That said, this is a simple, rustic, “basics” kind of place — not a Western-style hotel or luxury retreat. The rooms are mostly functional but very minimal, with firm beds (no mattress or soft pillows) and very limited comfort. Bring your own clean bath linens, insect repellent, external phone charger and a flashlight for the dark walkways and electricity outages. As a solo female traveler, I felt safe and well cared for throughout my stay. I’m grateful for the experience — it reminded me how simplicity and sincerity can make an experience truly rich.
My time at Yogadhama was truly special. The space is serene, beautifully maintained, and filled with uplifting, positive energy. The entire staff treats with genuine warmth and care, creating a homely and comforting environment throughout the stay. The food was both healthy and delicious—nourishing for both the body and the soul. Every meal felt thoughtfully prepared and added to the overall experience of wellness. I left Yogadhama feeling refreshed, grounded, and deeply grateful for the journey. I can recommend this place enough to anyone looking for healing, learning, or simply a peaceful retreat. 🙏✨
Our stay at Yoga Dhama was truly a soul-nourishing experience. Set near the serene river and surrounded by the peaceful Ashrama environment, the center offered the perfect blend of nature, spirituality, and comfort. The presence of the goshala, the calm yogic atmosphere, and the natural beauty all around created an ideal space for inner healing and rejuvenation. The yoga sessions were deeply enriching and helped us connect with our body and mind in a meaningful way. Each day felt refreshing, grounding, and filled with positive energy. The food was another highlight—simple, delicious, healthy, and prepared with so much love. Every meal felt like prasad. The staff served us with utmost warmth, generosity, and sincerity.
