What comes to mind when describing the teachers in this shala is the Chinese idiom 'Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.' Peter is a teacher of teachers hidden in this understated shala with a lovely quaint garden. He teaches with mastery, precision and humour. Having practiced yoga for more than a decade on another style of yoga, I was blown away. I returned home with a renewed sense of appreciation and purpose for my own practice. The local community is lucky to have him back in Australia after years training and teacher abroad. Both Peter and Faye were very welcoming and inclusive. If I ever return to Byron, I will no doubt drop in for class.

I've been studying with Peter for almost 20 years now. He has studied with the greats and applied yoga to modern life in an authentic and and pragmatic/practical way. The Five Element Form is something unique that I've not experienced elsewhere in my yoga travels. The energy in the studio is amazing and I always feel at home there. Peter and Faye are establishing an inclusive community of practitioners of all walks of life. If you're interested in understanding more about the why and how of yoga and the profound impact yoga can have on your body, mind and life, do pay them a visit 😊

Peter has been My Teacher and Close friend for 16 years now after doing a YTT with him. I live in India and speak Hindi , just to say Peter has a wider and more in depth knowledge of yoga than any teacher I know and his Classes which were always great fun have improved further by his Teaching Partner Faye who has a Sense of humour to match his , expect laughing and fun and for any other health related issues Peter is not just a Teacher But a Master of health issues , I went with bad knees thinking of an operation , he taught me to walk Properly now I’m ok. Learning yoga in that first Yoga Training with him was the smartest thing I have done in this life , so far .

Peter and Faye have created an incredible yoga space where you’re taught to understand why you’re practicing yoga and how each pose benefits your body. The classes are both physically and mentally engaging. They emphasise safe practice, share a wealth of knowledge, and offer apprenticeships along with a wide variety of classes and workshops to help deepen your understanding. I’m very grateful to have come across here

I have been attending yoga at Shiva and Shakti for approximately 18 months. The setting is very tranquil. I feel stretched and relaxed after every session and enjoy the variety of poses each class. The meditation at the end is wonderful. Peter is incredibly knowledgeable and I enjoy his clear and concise instructions not only about the poses but the effect on the body in general. I highly recommend.
