Rachel Hanrahan is passionate about sharing the benefits of a yogic practice during pregnancy. Prenatal Yoga classes provide the opportunity for women to deepen their understanding, experience and enjoyment of pregnancy. Through the practice of Prenatal yoga, women can consciously connect with the power and beauty of the transformation of pregnancy through developing their inner wisdom. Yoga can help to consciously integrate their physical, mental, emotional, energetic and spiritual well being for a calm, confident childbirth experience.
Rachel has a renewed perspective and understanding of the benefits of yoga after having her son in late 2009. After suffering a range of complications throughout her pregnancy her practice of yoga during her pregnancy brought an innate wisdom of the presence of her baby within to have an integration and expanded capacity to respond to the physical, physiological and emotional changes.
Rachel’s prenatal classes focus on awakening this innate wisdom, to trust, allow, relax and flow. Integrating eclectic knowledge of divine feminine practices, active birthing techniques, Indian yogic, Buddhist and Taoist meditation techniques, conscious relaxation techniques and the profound power of vocal toning techniques.
Practicing yoga, breath work and meditation will not guarantee an easy birth, or a transition into motherhood without difficulty. The practice will empower birthing women to make the most of their vast inner resources. Through the practice, knowledge and experience of yoga, each woman is encouraged to discover her strength, and truth through the transformative journey of pregnancy, and into childbirth and beyond into motherhood.
Rachel has an advanced diploma in yogic teaching, holds a graduate certificate in prenatal yoga and is a certified active birth practitioner.
